Crown Prince and Crown Princess donate appliances to flood affected families in Kladovo municipality

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited today Kladovo Municipality accompanied by Mrs. Betty Rumeliotis, sister of Crown Princess Katherine and delivered humanitarian aid to 74 families in Tekija, Podvrska and Grabovica. The humanitarian aid was collected thanks to a Lifeline Chicago and Lifeline Toronto Humanitarian Organizations under the patronage of Crown Princess Katherine, which provided household appliances for families in Kladovo municipality, whose homes were destroyed during the May floods. In addition to household appliances Crown Prince and Crown Princess also delivered food packages to vulnerable families, provided thanks to the generosity and goodwill of the companies “Polimark”, “Zitopromet” and “Veropulos”.

President of Municipality of Kladovo Mr Radovan Arezina and his associates welcomed the Royal Couple and expressed his gratitude for the assistance Crown Prince and Crown Princess provided for the municipality residents.

Princess Katherine said that our people who live in Diaspora always try to help our people. “The help that we bring you today is the donation from Lifeline Canada and Lifeline Chicago offices whose patron I am. The funds for the appliances and food were raised at a charity dinner in June in Toronto. Lifeline Canada and other Lifeline organizations are have been collecting help for years for children without parents, hospitals, elderly and sick, and after huge floods in May and August for families affected by this natural disaster.”

Their Royal Highnesses visited the Health Center in Kladovo, where they have been informed about situation in this institution, and their needs in equipment.

After the official part the Crown Prince and Crown Princess talked to the residents of Kladovo municipality and delivered them help they provided for them. After the delivery of aid, the Royal Couple visited the homes of vulnerable families to deliver help and to see first-hand the problems that the residents of this municipality are facing every day.
