H.R.H. Crown Princess Katherine in a visit to Mionica

 

As a part of her visit to Mionica, Struganik and Ravna Gora, H.R.H. Crown Princess Katherine wanted to learn more about people of this area, having in mind their difficult situation after the severe earthquake in 1998.

Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited the Clinic in Mionica where their host was Dr. Lepa Carapic, the director of the Clinic. Her Royal Highness brought humanitarian aid in clothes and shoes and she also promised to help in the supply of medical equipment for this institution. Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited the children`s section, gynecological section, general practitioner`s section and the laboratory, which enabled them to see the bad conditions of the building and  the out-dated medical equipment. Crown Prince Alexander and his wife visited the Red Cross building “Bogovodja” where 68 refugees from Bosnia and Croatia are living.

The hosts of their Royal Highnesses were Mr. Jovica Knezevic, the director of this institution and Mrs. Brankica Bilbija from the Red Cross of Serbia. In the hall of the building Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine addressed those present and afterwards Her Royal Highness distributed aid in clothes, shoes, toiletries, blankets and pasta. Their Royal Highnesses toured the building as well as the sewing workshop. By talking to the refugees they learned about their problems.
