HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISITS CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS FOR UPCOMING EASTER HOLIDAYS
Belgrade, 14 April 2009 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine traditionally visited the children’s department at the Institute of Oncology, University Children’s Hospital and Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade for the forthcoming Easter holidays and delivered presents to the young patients.
Prof. Dr. Nenad Borojevic, director and Dr. Zoran Bekic, the chief of children’s department at the Institute of Oncology welcomed HRH Crown Princess Katherine and briefed her about the situation in this institution. Crown Princess Katherine then visited a children’s department where 10 boys and 10 girls age 3 to 18 are receiving treatment and delivered presents and spent time with the patients and parents.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine the visited the University Children’s Hospital in Tirsova where she was welcomed by Dr Milan Djukic, Director of the Clinic and Prof. Dr. Ida Jovanovic, chief of the cardiology department. Crown Princess Katherine delivered presents to the children in the Cardiology department, and wished the young patients Happy Easter and a swift recovery. Crown Princess Katherine was accompanied by members of King’s Youth, who delivered Easter presents to patients at Haemodialysis department.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine also visited the Institute for Mother and Child in New Belgrade, where Prim. Dr. Dragutin Trickovic, director of the Institute welcomed her. Crown Princess Katherine the visited a department with 30 children, wished them Happy Easter and a speedy recovery, and delivered presents to all the children.
Visits to hospitals are part of the traditional humanitarian activities organized by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine and Crown Princess Katherine’s Foundation for the Easter holidays.
