CHILDREN HOSPITALS AND CHILDCARE INSTITUTIONS VISITED BY CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE ON CHRISTMAS DAY
Belgrade, 7 January 2010 – HRH Crown Princess Katherine spent Christmas Day traditionally visiting children hospitals and childcare institutions.
Before the traditional family Christmas lunch, Crown Princess Katherine together with Mrs. Kathy Fanslow President of the Board of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization in Chicago and Mrs. Marisa Basile visited orphans in the home for children without parental care in Zvecanska Street. After that they paid a visit to the University Children’s Hospitals in Tirsova Street and Mother and Child Institute in New Belgrade where they delivered toys and sweets to the children, bringing them warmth and happiness for the holiday season, and showing them that they are not alone and that her Foundation have them always in mind. The children in University Children’s Hospitals in Tirsova had the pleasure to enjoy an amusing program prepared for them by the famous Serbian composer and entertainer for children Minja Subota.
As a part of Princess Katherine’s Christmas activities, she participated and supported the work of the Culinary Association of Serbia that prepared a Christmas lunch for more than 100 people that was served in Daily Centre for old people. This event was supported by the Assembly of the City of Belgrade and was also attended by HE Mr. John Morrison, the Canadian Ambassador to Serbia. |
