The Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited Bela Palanka, Nis and Knez Selo bringing valuable donations

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited today Bela Palanka, Nis and Knez Selo and during these visits officially delivered the donation to the kindergarten “Dragica Lalovic” in Bela Palanka, Student Clinic in Nis and Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases and Palliative Care “Crown Princess Katherine” in Knez Selo. The donations are worth 53,000 euros and are provided with great help and dedication of Dr. Elaine Laycock, long-term medical director of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization in London which is under the patronage of Crown Princess Katherine. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the University of Nis, and Crown Prince Alexander, accompanied by Crown Princess Katherine and the members of the “Kingdom of Serbia” Association, laid a wreath at the monument of his grandfather, His Majesty King Alexander I.

Thanks to Their Royal Highnesses and Dr Elaine Laycock, a complete reconstruction of plumbing and sewage was done in the kindergarten “Dragica Lalovic” in Bela Palanka. The value of this reconstruction was 13,000 euros.

In addition to the kindergarten in Bela Palanka, the Royal Couple visited the Student Clinic in Nis whose health services are used by over 35,000 students. Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine provide an electric gynecological table and a dental chair for the clinic. The value of this donation is 20,000 euros. As we were told in the clinic, this is the first donation the clinic has ever received, and the Royal Couple said in an interview with the director Radomir Pesic that this is only the beginning of the cooperation and that the Crown Princess Katherine Foundation is making effort in the future to provide medical appliances that will facilitate the work of the doctors and provide better health care for the University of Nis students.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine also visited the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases and Palliative Care “Crown Princess Katherine” in Knez selo.

The Royal Couple traditionally helps the functioning of this very important medical institution. 100,000 euros was invested to renovate the department of palliative care, provided thanks to Lifeline Humanitarian Organization London, which is under the patronage of Crown Princess Katherine. The reason for today’s visit is the renovation of two separate apartments and replacing all of the windows. The value of this donation was 20,000 euros and it was provided through great dedication of Dr. Elaine Laycock, long-term medical director of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization London. Also, a van for transportation of patients and air conditioner will be donated to this institution.

During their visit to Nis, the Royal Couple attended the ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the University of Nis at the Nis National Theatre.

After the academy, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander, accompanied by the members of the “Kingdom of Serbia” Association from Nis, laid a wreath at the monument to his grandfather, His Majesty King Alexander I, which is located in the center of Nis, at the square named after the late King Unifier.
