Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, under the patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, has again provided assistance and support through the complete renovation, restoration, and refurnishing of the large living area for the young residents of The Spomenak Home for Children and Youth Without Parental Care in Pančevo.
This shared space, where the children of the institution spend much of their time, has been vastly updated and improved thanks to the immense generosity of The Three Kolo Group of Serbian Sisters – The Kolo Srpskih Sestara of: St. George of Joliet, Illinois, Kneginja Zorka of Lansing, Illinois, and St. Archangel Michael of Lansing, Illinois.
Thanks to this donation, the living area was completely renovated and enhanced in order to provide the children and youth with a more pleasant and warm environment for their daily activities and daily living. The space was completely repainted, one wall was decorated with modern wallpaper, the windows were adorned with new draperies, the door was replaced, and the room was refurnished with brand new modern furniture. The new furnishings included a large sofa, an armchair, a coffee table, a large table with four chairs, new cabinetry, a television, as well as decorative paintings that further contributed to a welcoming atmosphere.
This donation represents yet another example of the longstanding commitment of Lifeline Chicago and HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation to improving the living conditions of children without parental care in Serbia and in Republika Srpska. Thanks to the continued support of The Three Kolo Group of Serbian Sisters from Illinois, conditions have been created for a highly enhanced quality of life and for the betterment of the development of social skills for the young residents of The Spomenak Home.
“I am very happy that we have once again succeeded in bringing joy to the children and youth at the ‘Spomenak’ Home and providing them with a nicer and more comfortable space for their daily stay. Every child deserves to grow up in a warm and supportive environment, and initiatives like these contribute to their sense of security, belonging, and happiness. I sincerely thank our dear sisters, representatives of the three Kolo Serbian Sisters from Illinois, for their generosity and continued support. Together, we can always do more to ensure that children feel loved and know that they are not forgotten,” said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
Representatives of the Home expressed their immense gratitude to the donors for this significant donation, emphasizing that the renovation and refurbishment will have a huge long-term positive impact on the everyday lives of the young residents.
