In cooperation with HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation, Rotary Club Belgrade International organised another successful charity concert of virtuoso pianist Stefan Đoković, which was held last night at the White Palace in Belgrade, Serbia. This was the 4th annual concert, and it was held in the presence and with the support of TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.
This year’s event was held in support of the “May My Hair Be Your Hair” project; all funds raised through donations will be used to assist the “Always with Children” Association and to fund the creation of natural hair wigs for girls who have lost their hair during oncological treatment. The main partner of the event was UNA General Hospital and UNA Residence Polyclinic.
Together with Their Royal Highnesses, the event was attended by many other distinguished guests from the spheres of business, art, culture, and the public life of Serbia. HRH Crown Prince Alexander, as the host, officially opened the event, followed by a wonderful performance by Stefan Đoković, Rotary Belgrade International Club member, who played a selection of pieces by great masters, Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner, Claude Debussy and Frederic Chopin, but also his own author’s composition “Lullaby”.
On this occasion, Rotary Club Belgrade International awarded HRH Crown Princess Katherine and her Foundation with a special charter of gratitude for the support to their humanitarian initiatives.
“Every kind of support for the medical system of our country is much needed and more than welcome. But when you are supporting those who are fighting cancer, it is even more important, but also very inspiring and moving. The help that you will provide to the young girls will contribute not only to them regaining their strength and dignity, but it will also touch their families and friends, the entire community.
My wife, Crown Princess Katherine, has dedicated her life to helping others, and I know very well that whenever she provided aid to fight against cancer, it made a special impact. And her own fight and victory over this vicious disease are an example of their own that every support is very important. Thank you very much for contributing to those who need our support the most, as well as our love and understanding”, said the Crown Prince in his speech.
“For the fourth consecutive year, our Gala Humanitarian Concert has brought people together through music, friendship, and a shared commitment to helping others. This year, we are especially proud to support the ‘May My Hair Be Your Hair’ project, helping girls who have lost their hair during cancer treatment regain a sense of confidence and dignity.
We are deeply grateful to Their Royal Highnesses, the Crown Princess Katherine Foundation, our event partner Una General Hospital, our member Stefan Đoković, and every donor and guest who made this evening possible.
For Rotary, the true measure of success is not simply bringing people together, but what we are able to achieve together for those who need our support”, stated Ms. Tijana Ristić, President of the Rotary Club Belgrade International.
The main partner of this year’s concert was Una General Hospital, which representative, Dr Ana Malivuković, spoke at the event. Ms Mileva Ličina addressed the present people on behalf of the “Always with Children” Association and presented the importance of the “May My Hair Be Your Hair” project.
