CROWN PRINCESS AND THE ST CATHERINE MONASTERY CHARITY IN NEW YORK

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine who is the President of St Catherine’s Monastery foundation, hosted with the board of the foundation a fund raising event last night in New York. Funds where raised for the reconstruction of the Monastery that is located in the Sinai, Egypt.

The monastery was built between 548 and 565, the monastery is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. The site contains the world’s oldest continually operating library, possessing many unique books including the Syriac Sinaiticus and, until 1859, the Codex Sinaiticus.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is the Patron of the British associates of Saint Catherine Monastery.

Last night the ambassadors of Greece and Cyprus to the United Nations attended the event.
