Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine organized four charity events in the United States during the last 10 days, thanks to Lifeline New York Humanitarian Organization, which is under the patronage of Crown Princess Katherine. The charity dinners were organized with the aim to raise funds for equipping prenatal care units, to help children with disabilities and children without parental care, as well as to help flood victims in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. The charity dinners were organized in St. Petersburg, Florida; Miami, Florida; Beverly Hills and San Marcos, California.
The charity dinner in St. Petersburg, Florida was attended by over 300 guests, including His Grace Bishop Mitrofan of Eastern America and Mr. Obrad Kesic, the Head of the Republic of Srpska Office in Washington. The funds raised that evening are intended to help children without parental care in the Republic of Srpska.
At the charity dinner in Miami, where the funds were raised to help childrenwith special needs and flood victims in Serbia, the mayor of Miami, Mr.Thomas P. Regalado, handed over the keys to the city of Miami to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander. The charity dinner was attended by a large number of the Serbs and their American friends who are following the humanitarian activities of the Royal Couple in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska with great attention, always ready to assist their efforts to constantly help their people and their country.
The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were also the hosts of the charity dinner in Beverly Hills, California, where they raised funds to help neonatal care units in Serbia. The charity dinner was attended by a large number of American friends of the Royal Family as well as a number of our compatriots including Marija Serifovic, singer, Marija Karan, actress, Lolita Davidovich, actress of Serbian origin and Milan Panic, former Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The event was especially honored by the presence of Lord Frederick Windsor (the son of TRH Prince Michael and Princess Marie Christine of Kent, a close relative of HM Queen Elizabeth) and Mr. Nick Vujicic, a world renowned motivational speaker.
At the charity dinner in San Marcos, California, the mayor of this city, Mr. Jim Desmond, presented the keys of city and commendation plaque to Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine. During the dinner funds were raised to help children with special needs and equip the prenatal care units in Serbia. During their stay in San Marcos the Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited the Saint Katherine College where they met its founder and president Dr. Frank Papantheofanis, who introduced them to the work of this institution and its students. The Royal Couple is convinced that this visit will give birth to good cooperation between the College and the Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education.
Crown Prince Alexander said to all our compatriots in the Diaspora: “Everyone has only one homeland in life. Our homeland is Serbia. Do not forget that and teach your descendants to love their ancestors’ homeland and to be with their country and their people in good and in bad times”.
Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine expressed satisfaction that the institution of the Crown, together with the Serbian Orthodox Church, has remained a symbol of unity and gathering of the Serbian Diaspora in the United States. They thanked all people of good will who have been supporting their efforts and desire to help their country and their people for more than two decades, as well as the Lifeline New York Humanitarian Organization, under the patronage of the Crown Princess.
