The Mayor of Miami Mr. Tomás P. Regalado the symbolic keys to the city to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander at a humanitarian dinner in this city last evening. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess Katherine attended this humanitarian dinner organised by Lifeline New York Humanitarian Organization in aid of children with special needs and the victims of the floods in Serbia.
Expressing his gratitude for the honour he received, the Crown Prince thanked the City Council for their hospitality and their assistance in the efforts of the Royal Family to help their country, and especially those mostly in need at this moment. “The person is as rich as he or she is rich in friends. Friends of my family are friends of my homeland, as well. And Serbia is a rich country because of that. Thank you for all your help and support you give to my country and my people”, emphasized the Crown Prince.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine thanked the guests for supporting her humanitarian activities for years, and for helping people in the homeland. “Serbia is a country rich in good people, rich in natural beauty, rich in good friends all over the world, but also a country that faced many difficulties throughout its history. Our people face the consequences of these difficulties even today. The catastrophic floods last year made already difficult situation even harder. Thank you very much for not forgetting your country and your people even when you are miles away from them. I wish it will stay like that in the future”, emphasized Crown Princess Katherine.
A “Silent auction” was held during the evening, and Miami school arts and dancing ensemble performed an interesting program.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine will attend humanitarian events in Los Angeles, California on February 20 and San Marcos, California on February 21.
