Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, which is under the patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, has completed another significant project by supporting the renovation of the fourth boys’ residential unit at the Drinka Pavlovic Home for Children. This key renovation was made possible by an incredibly generous donation from the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation.
This project aimed to provide better living conditions for the children residing in this Home by improving both the functionality and comfort of their living space. This renovation encompassed four large shared bedrooms, an expansive living room, numerous hallways, and two large bathrooms on the second floor, transforming the unit into a safer, warmer, and more welcoming environment. This incredibly generous donation by the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation has significantly improved the quality of life for the boys living in the Home, giving them a renewed sense of dignity and comfort in their everyday environment. This phase also involved the following work: plastering and painting of all rooms, replacement of eight doors, painting of four doors, replacement of all exterior door panels, repainting of all radiators, installation of new faucets in all bathrooms, and laying of new laminate flooring throughout the entire unit.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine expressed her deep appreciation to the donors for their continued commitment to improving the lives of children in need: “My husband and I are sincerely grateful to the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation for their wonderful support of the children at the Drinka Pavlovic Home. Every child deserves to grow up in a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. This renovation not only improves their physical surroundings but also sends a message of love and hope. When we join hands and hearts, we can truly make a difference in the lives of these precious children.”
Mrs. Hristina Kadijević, Director of the Drinka Pavlovic Home, also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Nelson Family for their support and solidarity: “Every improvement we make to the children’s living space has a direct impact on their well-being and sense of security. This renovation not only transformed the physical environment but also sent a powerful message to our children — that they are seen, cared for, and not forgotten. I would like to thank HRH Crown Princess Katherine for her exceptional engagement, unreserved assistance, and support throughout all these years. I also especially emphasize the importance of the donations from the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation and Lifeline Chicago, which are of great significance to all children and young people in our Home.”
