On Christmas Day, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine visited the Home for Children without Parental Care at Ustanicka 19, the University Children’s Clinic and the Children’s Department of the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia.
On that occasion, Crown Princess Katherine, together with Mrs. Donna Sekulic, vice president of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, visited the renovated and equipped rooms in the Home for Children without Parental Care at Ustanicka 19 and handed out Christmas packages to the children.
The children at the Home at Ustanicka 19 received a completely new computer room with 6 computers and 3 printers, 2 living rooms and 8 bedrooms were renovated and equipped, and 6 refrigerators were donated. The $ 27,000 donation was provided with the help of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, whose patron is Crown Princess Katherine, and the funds were donated by Mrs. Margaret McCarthan and the Pittsburgh Committee. On this occasion, the children at the Home received toys, clothes and shoes, the donation provided by the Old Church of the Holy Resurrection from Chicago.
Mr. Zoran Milacic, General Manager of the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth, as well as the entire staff, thanked Crown Princess Katherine and the donors for their great help.
The Crown Princess continued her Christmas activities at the University Children’s Clinic, where, in addition to the toys provided by the Lifeline Chicago office, she also handed a donation worth $ 1,600 from Dr. Mira Irons, consisting of computers, medical books and a Vista lamp.
“When there is a will, there is a way. When we work together, there are results. We work for our children and their better everyday life and future”, said Crown Princess Katherine.
Crown Princess Katherine also brought joy to the the children at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia with Christmas gifts.
