HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE’S VALUABLE DONATION TO THE INSTITUTE FOR ONCOLOGY AND RADIOLOGY IN BELGRADE

Her Royal Highness Princess Katherine officially handed over new medical equipment to the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in Belgrade. The equipment consists of a PROFLEX 3×32-WELL PCR SYSTEM PCR with PROFLEX 96-WELL SAMPLE BLOCK, which will be used for genetic testing of the hereditary predisposition for breast and ovarian cancer in Serbia. The donation value is around $ 27,000.

This donation was made possible through a donation provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation from the United States. The friends of Their Royal Highnesses, the Stavros S. NIARCHOS Foundation, helped the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine through programs of grants for healthcare in the past few years. The value of all these donations is more than a million dollars.

“This donation for the Institute of Oncology and Radiology is of great importance for me, because this hospital is one of the most important places for diagnosis and treatment in Belgrade and Serbia. Only this week, in cooperation with our friends from the Stavros S. Niarchos Foundation in America, besides this donation, we donated to the Clinical Center Vojvodina and the Clinical Center Nis in the total value of $ 100,000 “- said HRH Princess Katherine in her speech.
Dr Ana Krivokuća, Head of Genetic Research at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia, as well as the entire medical staff of the Institute, thanked Princess Katarina for her donation and assistance.

Accompanying HRH Crown Princess Katherine, during her visit to the Institute was Rose Glamoclija, a member of the Boca Nursing Services organization in the United States, who deals with personalized home care.
