Elementary School “Petar Petrovic Njegos” from Kosovo and Metohija has been renovated thanks to a donation of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and its Pittsburgh/Tri-State Committee, through the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation. The donation of over $10,000 was used to refurbish the school building, so that the students and staff can perform their daily activities in a more pleasant environment.
The renovation project consisted of painting the walls on all three floors of the school, procurement and installation of six new doors, five new windows, 24 new basins and taps and repairing 37 old doors.
“We are very grateful to HRH Crown Princess Katherine, her Foundation, and the donors. This donation enabled us to have much better conditions for learning and work, and I believe that our school will become a place where students will be happy to stay” – Mr. Nenad Vlajkovic, the Principal of the school stated.
“I am very happy that we have successfully implemented another important project aimed at helping children and schools. I warmly thank the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and its Pittsburgh/Tri-State Committee for the funds raised and for their willingness to always take part gladly in the charitable activities we organize. It is always crucial that we do what we can to support our children, to ensure that they have good conditions for learning and have the better childhood. The children are our future” – HRH Crown Princess Katherine said.
