Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine enjoyed an evening of Massachusetts history and fellowship for the 2017 Fundraiser supporting cancer care needs in Serbia.
The Royal couple, together with granddaughter Amanda Garfinkel and her fiancé Nate Earle, as well as Crown Princess Katherine’s sister Betty Roumeliotis, joined this year’s festivities along with more than 60 guests from the New England region, including Serbian families, and medical staff from Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Boston, Shriners Children Hospitals of Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital.
This was the second annual Lifeline event in greater Boston and it featured the beautiful spring grounds of Gore Place located in Waltham, Massachusetts. Gore Place and its 50 acre site is on the National Historic Register and dates back to 1776 as the ancestral home of the Gore Family, one of the Bay Colony’s major political families. Attendees enjoyed Mansion tours first before embarking to the 1793 Carriage House for the Special Benefit Cocktail Reception. The event was dedicated to supporting women’s and pediatric cancer care needs in Serbia.
Honored guests included Dr. Leslie Lehmann from the Boston Global Pediatric Oncology Initiative affiliated with Dana Farber; and Dr. Branko Bojovic, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Shriners Children Hospitals of Boston. Both doctors gave brief presentations briefly outlining the medical work and partnerships that each has with Serbia.
